We sent our teammate Amber off in style last week with an ice cream party and a day full of silliness. After her time with us she is starting work as the assistant farm manager of a startup that will be supplying a farm-to-table restaurant in New Hampshire. We will miss her but are excited for her to have this opportunity to join such an excellent venture in its early days and be able to work closer to home. She brought to our team levity, quick thinking, years of experience, and a wealth of stories from the cautionary to the downright absurd. Her crazy t-shirts, sayings, and take-life-by-the-horns attitude kept us honest and laughing.
On her last day here she brought in the chaps she made when she was working out west on ranches and explained their decoration and functionality to us. Andrew tried them on, lamenting the blandness of the young Vermont farmer uniform. Though from a very different agricultural world, they inspired us to bring a little more swagger and unabashed celebration to things that are everyday and functional.
Good luck Amber, thanks for all your hard work here – we’ll miss you!
