Fall and the flu arrived on the farm this week. Fortunately not all the farmers were impacted and the animals and plants are still thriving And the sick ones got some enforced rest. Meanwhile some reinforcements kept the canning, weeding, harvest and fencebuilding going. The 2nd phase of last summer’s fencing project is just about done which will make animal moves and plant security much easier!
With fall’s official arrival, we are getting some beautiful foliage on the farm, encouraging us all to pause and take a break to enjoy.
The livestock seem to be enjoying as well. On one of the recent crisp, sunny mornings, the goats were all basking….as if they know winter is coming and they need to stock up on their vitamin D now.
