Supper & Farm Tours  5-6:30 pm

Concert 7 pm

We are thrilled to welcome Scrag Mountain Music back to the farm to launch their weekend of Modern Baroque.

Mary and Evan will be joined by Chicago violinist Austin Wulliman, Montpelier flutist Karen Kevra, and Marshfield harpsichordist Lynnette Combs.

The program includes musical animal sounds in “Sonata Representiva” by baroque composer Heinrich Bieber and in the story of the Big Bad Wolf (B.B. Wolf), a theatrical work by New York City composer Jon Deak.  Scrag Mountain Music will usher in Spring with the world premiere of “If Not for Joy” by Vermont composer Erik Nielsen, a setting of three poems by Shelburne poet Jean L. Connor.  Erik Nielsen writes, “Jean has the rare ability to balance our sense of the past, with all its doubts and difficulties, with a great awareness of the richness of the present as embodied in nature.  I’ve done my best to do justice to the images and emotions of these poems in my music.”  The program will also include works by J.S. Bach and Bohuslav Martinu.

Admission is by donation: “Come as you are. Pay what you Can.” Families are welcome.
Concert begins at 7pm.
