Welcoming our Summer Apprentices

Alexa Norstad

We had a strong suspicion that Alexa belonged on our team when we asked about her relationship to MS excel and she said something suggesting she is in fact “one with excel”.  We are excited by her purposeful early mid career switch from corporate New York (Doremus, Condé Nast Publications) and San Francisco (Corlett, Skaer & DeVoto Architects) world to hands-on engagement with sustainable food production. Our early exposure to her cooking makes clear her pre-existing passion for food. We are excited to tap this further along with her strategic outlook and serious commitment.

Rose Wall

Our annual team “strengthsfinder” exercise revealed that Rose is highly relational and already the flocks and herds and members of them have new nicknames. We knew we wanted to tap Rose’s energy, strength and photography. The care she exudes is a perfect match as well.  As appears typical from her resume Rose is juggling multiple interesting jobs this summer.  When she is not with us she is working with Pete Colman at Vermont Salumi in Plainfield, sponsored by a Connecticut College fellowship.
